Sic’Em365
Through my role with Baylor Athletics, I developed a close working relationship with the writers at Sic’Em365.com. Through this relationship, I started working for them as a freelance photographer, mainly for soccer.
When it came time to work with a business in my PR Writing class in the Baylor Journalism department, it was a no brainer to work with Sic’Em365. Below is the backgrounder I wrote highlighting the company, followed by some photos of Baylor soccer used on their site.
Sic’Em365 is a sports media outlet based in Waco, Texas, focusing coverage on athletics at Baylor University. Established in 2016, a group of Baylor alumni and sports journalists set out to provide wide, cohesive coverage of sports at Baylor. Through both their website and other affiliated media, Sic’Em365 offers a variety of content.
The website, Sic’Em365.com, serves as the organization’s main channel for their coverage of Baylor athletics. It includes articles, previews, game recaps, photo galleries, podcasts and even discussion forums, Sic’Em365 offers a wide variety of content for their users. Furthermore, they offer a subscription-based membership program, which offers deeper insights into recruiting and other premium articles written by the staff.
Sic’Em365 expanded their coverage in 2020 with the launch of a daily sports talk show, 365 Sports. The show, hosted by Paul Catalina and Craig and David Smoak, is available on affiliated Texas radio networks and is also streamed online. The show features interviews with coaches and athletes, input from analysts and talk about a variety of sports at Baylor. This addition grew Sic’Em365 from a digital-only media outlet to reach a broader audience of college athletic enthusiasts.
Sic’Em365 is privately owned and operated by Colt Barber, Brian Ethridge and Ashley Hodges. This group of experienced sports journalists and longtime Baylor enthusiasts wanted to bring better coverage to Baylor sports. They collaborate with a variety of outlets in the Texas landscape. Their coverage often gains attention from national outlets as well. Sic’Em365 coverage focuses on Baylor University’s major athletic programs, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and soccer.
Founded in 2016, the Waco based media company, Sic’Em365 aims to provide strong coverage of athletics at Baylor University. Through their articles, podcasts, radio show and community forums, Sic’Em365 connects Baylor fans all around the country.
